Consultancy

Some of what agencies need is not about individual cases. It is about the systems, the knowledge, and the structures that sit behind them. When those are working well, carers are better supported, children are better served, and the agency carries less risk.

We work with agencies at an organisational level, reviewing practice, identifying gaps, and building the capacity to handle SEND well across the whole caseload.

Case consultancy

Sometimes a case gets stuck. A disputed EHCP, a local authority that is not engaging, a placement at risk because educational need is not being met and nobody can agree on what to do about it.

We provide an independent expert view, reviewing the case, identifying what has gone wrong, and advising on the most effective route forward.

EHCP caseload audit

Most agencies do not have a clear picture of the quality of the EHCPs held by children on their books. Plans become outdated. Provision becomes vague. Entitlements go unchallenged because nobody has the knowledge to spot that something is missing.

We carry out a structured review of EHCPs across an agency’s caseload, identifying gaps, inadequate provision, missing entitlements, and plans that no longer reflect the child’s current needs. The output is a clear written report with prioritised recommendations.

Diagnostic review of agency systems

A structured review of how the agency handles SEND across the full placement lifecycle. We look at where knowledge gaps or process failures are creating risk for children and liability for the agency, and we produce a written report with practical recommendations.

This is not an inspection. It is an independent expert view from people who understand both the care framework and the education framework and can see where the join between them is not working.

Policy and practice review

SEND legislation and guidance changes. Agency policies do not always keep pace. We review existing SEND and education policies, identify where they fall short of current requirements, and where needed rewrite them to reflect good practice and legal compliance.+

Retained advisory service

For agencies that want ongoing access to BTT expertise, we offer a retained advisory relationship. Supervising social workers can bring cases as they arise. Training needs can be addressed without having to commission a new piece of work each time. The agency has a named expert to call on rather than starting from scratch every time something complex comes up.

Pricing is bespoke throughout and built around what the agency needs.
