Good SEND practice is not just about knowing the law. It is about understanding what children with additional needs actually experience in educational settings, and what professionals can do to make a real difference.
Our training is bespoke. We do not deliver generic off-the-shelf sessions. We design each programme around what is actually happening in your setting, your team, or your organisation. That means the content is relevant, the conversations are real, and the outcomes are practical.
Who we train
We work with schools and nurseries, social care teams, fostering agencies, and other organisations whose staff work with children with SEND or the families who support them.
What we cover
SEND awareness is the foundation. Many professionals who work with children with additional needs have never had formal training on what SEND is, how the system works, or what the legal framework requires. We cover this in a way that is accessible and grounded in practice rather than legislation.
EHCP literacy is something SENCOs and senior leaders often need but rarely receive. We cover how to read a plan properly, what good provision looks like, how to spot vague or unenforceable language, and what annual reviews should actually achieve.
Understanding the graduated approach in practice is about moving from theory to what happens in classrooms and settings. We look at what assess, plan, do, review actually means for the professionals doing it day to day.
Writing meaningful outcomes is a specific skill that many professionals find difficult. We cover what makes an outcome specific and measurable, why generic outcomes fail children, and how to write them well.
Working constructively with families is one of the most valuable things any professional in this space can develop. We draw on our understanding of what families navigating the SEND system are carrying, and help professionals engage more effectively with parents who may appear difficult, hostile, or disengaged.
Running annual reviews that work covers what the process requires, what families need from it, and how to make reviews feel purposeful rather than procedural.
For solicitors and advocates
We produce independent professional expert witness reports for SEND Tribunal proceedings. We also offer evidence synthesis for cases where a family has accumulated multiple reports and assessments that need drawing together into a coherent picture.
If you are working on a case and need independent educational expertise, get in touch to discuss what you need.
How it works
Training can be delivered as a single session, a half day, a full day, or a programme of sessions depending on what your team needs. Everything is agreed in advance. Pricing is bespoke.
The right starting point is a conversation about what your setting needs and what would be most useful. Get in touch and we will take it from there.
